What is a log file?

Log files are files that contain information about activities. In log files we can see, e.g. whether alarms have been given, when, where, how accurate the GPS was, whether there was a Bluetooth connection, etc.


The log file is associated with the specific app, and therefore does not provide any information that can identify the user of the Saphe Link app, and is used exclusively by Saphe to find any problems and errors so that they can be fixed - by default log files are not sent from The Saphe Link app, unless the user presses the "Submit" button, or turns on "Send automatically" in the Saphe Link app.


How do I send a log file?

To send a log, do the following:

  • Go to the app
  • Select Menu
  • Select Information
  • Press Send, to send the latest log file 

If it is a constant error, it may be a good idea to turn on "Send automatically" so that the app submits logs when you have finished a drive. This helps Saphe support and the developers to collect more data which can help in finding the bug and thus a solution to it.


Send your user ID to support@saphe.com. This must be done so that we can find the log file, otherwise it will just stay on our server for a month, and will be deleted again after that time. It is therefore also important that you send a log file shortly after you have experienced errors, and do not wait too long, as otherwise we will not be able to see what happened.
